Activism on Campus

Can’t find an active group on your campus? Are you a student looking to organize one? Right to Life of Michigan has a resource guide with simple step-by-step start-up instructions. This guide also has useful tips for established groups looking to increase their activity.
High School Oratory Contest
Right to Life of Michigan Educational Fund’s annual high school oratory contest is open to all prolife high school students in Michigan. Contestants give a 5-7 minute speech on one of several prolife topics. Local contests are sponsored by affiliates across the state in the spring, followed by a state contest for local winners.
Outstanding Prolife Youth Award
The Right to Life of Michigan Educational Fund annually awards a $500 scholarship in the spring to one outstanding prolife high school senior in Michigan. Selection criteria include an essay and past participation in prolife activities. Award candidates are nominated by their local RLM affiliates; please contact them for more information and to get involved.
Meme Match
The Right to Life of Michigan Educational Fund hosts a Meme Match contest for high school and college-aged Michigan youth. Prolife young people ages 13 to 23 can create and submit an original meme based off of a selected template, and contest finalists will have their works shared on Right to Life of Michigan’s Facebook page in the summer.

A five-week summer program for student leaders who want to refine their prolife passion.
National Right to Life Video Contest
A contest in spring that is open to contestants between 15 and 25 years old.
LEAD Summer Camp
Student Statesmanship Institute hosts their intensive LEAD Summer Camp in Lansing for high school-age students. It features a mock legislature, business, judicial, media, or campaign program tracks. Prolife issues are included in several tracks, and Right to Life of Michigan staff frequently volunteer to help with their legislative track.
University Faculty for Life Scholarly Achievement Award
University Faculty for Life gives out an award every year to higher education students for creative writing, literary criticism or research.
The National Association of Pro Life Nurses Scholarship
The National Association of Pro Life Nurses awards a $1,000 scholarship to a prolife student enrolled in nursing school every year.

Life Lessons Lesson Plan Guide
Right to Life of Michigan wants to help educators provide their students with a genuine appreciation for the gift of life. To do so, we have compiled 13 lessons plans for students from kindergarten to high school.
Prolife Books and Videos
Right to Life of Michigan has three Resource Centers around the state with an extensive collection of prolife books, videos, and fetal models. These are all available for free library loan, either by visiting a Resource Center or sending them through the mail.
Educational Presentations
We have several PowerPoint presentations available for use during classes, for student groups, etc. They can be downloaded freely and come with full presenter scripts. Topics include The Story of Right to Life, Made in the Image of God, and presentations covering abortion methods and Planned Parenthood.
LifeNotes Series
Right to Life of Michigan’s LifeNotes series are in-depth resources about particular prolife topics. They include multiple citations and ideas for further reading and study. They can be downloaded for no charge and printed.
Flyers and Factsheets
Right to Life of Michigan has dozens of flyers and factsheets about a variety of topics involving prolife issues. These make for great research citations or topics to teach about. They can be downloaded for no charge and printed.
