Sanctity of Human Life Sunday
First proclaimed by President Ronald Reagan, every January, Americans are encouraged to celebrate the sanctity of all human life. We have many resources available to aid you in celebrating the day, including bulletin inserts, free PowerPoint presentations and slides, and much more.
Love Protects Life
Love Protects Life is an initiative that encourages all Michigan churches and faith communities to select one Sunday in October to speak with one voice, and one message: Love Protects Life.
Bible Verses Addressing Life
There are many verses in the Bible that deal with respecting and upholding the sanctity of all human life. Here are some key verses in different Bible versions:
King James Version
New King James Version
New International Version
Being Prolife Bulletin Insert
Being Prolife: How the Church can Help the Least of These is a free bulletin insert that provides a basic overview of the prolife movement and our key issues of abortion and euthanasia. It’s great to use for Respect Life Month in October, or any other time of the year to highlight prolife issues.
Prolife PowerPoint Presentations
We have several PowerPoint presentations available for use during services, small groups, Bible studies, etc. They can be downloaded freely and come with full presenter scripts. Topics include The Story of Right to Life, Made in the Image of God, and presentations covering abortion methods and Planned Parenthood.
Preaching the Prolife Message
This brochure explains to church leaders why it is important to discuss life issues, and gives some tips on preparing sermons on abortion and other prolife issues.
Ways to Get Involved
Faith & Life Monthly Email
Right to Life of Michigan sends a monthly email geared towards church leaders and staff. It features important news, action items for churches, and article suggestions for church bulletins or newsletters.
What Churches Can Do
Every church can have a positive, life-saving prolife impact in their local community. We have a few ideas for activities that can help promote a culture of life more than once or twice a year.
Guidelines for Political Activities
Congress has enacted special tax laws applicable to churches, religious organizations, and ministers in recognition of their unique status in American society—and their rights guaranteed by the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States. This brochure gives pastors and churches general guidance on what activities they can and can’t engage in involving election or legislative activities.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) offers this more in-depth reference guide of federal tax law and procedures.
