Welcome to Whitt-en For Life, formerly known as Danny’s Desk. I’m your new writer — you can call me Whitt! I’m also honored to serve as Right to Life of Michigan’s Director of Education and MiGen Leads Coordinator. I look forward to getting to know you better in the days and weeks ahead!

When I learned my first post would run during the month we celebrate Father’s Day, I could not have been more excited. Last year was filled with important milestones involving my dad. He was there for so many of my “firsts” — my first boss, my first coach and the dad who walked me down the aisle.

Fathers are so incredibly important.

A study cited by the Charlotte Lozier Institute found that 60% of women who had abortions said they would have preferred to give birth if they had received more emotional support or greater financial security. This finding underscores how important fathers and supportive partners can be during an unexpected pregnancy. From teaching children right from wrong to supporting and encouraging the women in their lives, fathers help create strong and loving families. A caring and supportive father can bring peace, reassurance and stability during life’s most challenging moments.

At Right to Life of Michigan, we celebrate the fathers who choose to love, cherish and support their families every day. Their willingness to lead with compassion, responsibility and sacrifice makes a lasting impact on both mothers and children.

As Father’s Day approaches, I encourage everyone to take a moment to appreciate the fathers, grandfathers, mentors and father figures who have made a difference in their lives. Their impact matters more than they may ever realize.

To all the incredible fathers out there: Thank you for your love, sacrifice, guidance and courage. We hope you have a wonderful and blessed Father’s Day!
