Description
This legislation establishes the medical standards to be used to determine when an individual can legally be pronounced dead. An individual must have sustained one of two conditions to be determined dead:

  1. Irreversible cessation of circulatory and respiratory functions.
  2. Irreversible cessation of all functions of the entire brain, including the brain stem.
