Keynote Speaker

Lisa Gigliotti

Author and former Administrative Law Judge Lisa K. Gigliotti will deliver a powerful message about The Courage to Honor the End of Life; critical now with the likely reintroduction of bills to legalize assisted suicide in Michigan. For more than twenty-five years Lisa has lived with severe rheumatoid arthritis and myasthenia gravis. Through fourteen major surgeries and recurrent use of a wheelchair, Lisa has maintained a fulfilling and positive life. She has achieved successful careers as an administrative law judge, a policy advisor for the Michigan senate and governor, and an advocate for people with disabilities and for improving end-of-life care. As a Bioethics law professor she raises awareness about societal whims and man-made laws diminishing traditional morals, including long-held multicultural faith doctrines and customs. She is dedicated to helping others lead more fulfilling lives. In pursuit of encouraging others, Lisa has written four books that describe her Italian-American upbringing and how Coraggio—courage—and faith are keys to positively overcoming adversity.
