Ed Rivet

Ed Rivet served as Right to Life of Michigan’s Legislative Director for more than 30 years, spearheading the organization’s public policy efforts at the State Capitol. Ed worked to pass dozens of prolife laws and prevent the passage of laws that violate the sanctity of human life. His legislative accomplishments on abortion include laws regarding parental consent, informed consent, banning partial-birth abortion, regulating abortion clinics, protecting babies who survive abortions, and more. Ed’s work on end-of-life issues included banning assisted suicide and writing the most protective medical directive laws in the country. Ed is a native of Bay City and earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Michigan State University. He and his wife Michelle live in Mason and are proud of their growing family, with six children, two of whom are married, and three grandchildren. He is currently employed as the Executive Director of the Michigan Conservative Energy Forum.
