Due to Governor Whitmer’s March 23 executive order, all Right to Life of Michigan offices will be closed to the public until June 9. However, that does not mean the prolife movement will be closed in Michigan.

If you have a question or comment pertaining to our educational programs, staff will still be working from home and checking our general e-mail inbox, [email protected]. You’ll still be hearing from us via e-mail or social media. Nothing will stop on the state-level. Our affiliates must cancel or postpone upcoming events and meetings, but please check with them regarding any activities that were planned.

Staff will be in our state office periodically to maintain minimum basic operations. If you mail us a donation, it will be processed. A letter will be read. A phone message will be received. Please be patient as we will be unable to always respond in a timely manner given the current circumstances.

Our legislative and political action efforts will proceed as much as legally possible at this time. There are still vitally important elections in 2020, and planning for them continues.

Due to the coronavirus-related executive orders, the Michigan Bureau of Elections has temporarily paused processing our petition drive to end dismemberment abortions. The petitions were counted, but the sampling process did not begin, and the public can’t access their building for that currently. This delay has no bearing on the 40 days the Legislature has to consider the dismemberment ban once the signature verification is complete. We’ll keep you updated as soon as the status changes.

Sadly, abortion facilities are not closing; deaths will continue at many of their facilities. While this pandemic is impacting everything we do, abortion is not stopping at this time, so neither will we stop.

We encourage prolife people to do what you can, whether it’s spending this time at home learning more about prolife issues, teaching your children, or speaking with a friend. Ask if your local Right to Life of Michigan affiliate or prolife pregnancy help centers have ongoing projects and needs you can help meet, even if only remotely from home.

Life in general will return to normal at some point, but there’s nothing normal about abortion. The case fatality rate of being an unborn child in Michigan is 19%; for every four live births there’s one life taken through abortion in our state. We will remain a voice for the voiceless in every circumstance we face.
