On Thursday, November 6, thousands of pro-life supporters gathered at the State Capitol in Lansing for the second Michigan March for Life. It was a beautiful, sunny day for a November rally –- God was truly shining on the crowd as they gathered in solidarity with women and the unborn.

This important event occurs every two years near the anniversary of the passing of Proposal 3, which legalized abortion in Michigan throughout all nine months of pregnancy for any reason. But, as the crowd proudly chanted and displayed with encouraging signs, there is another choice readily available to women – the choice of life.

This was my first time attending the Michigan March for Life, as I began working for Right to Life of Michigan a few months after the first one occurred. My expectations were met and then exceeded. The energy of the crowd was amazing as thousands of attendees, ranging in age from newborn babies to proud grandparents, gathered during the morning concert and rally. Our speakers gave amazing testimonies on the importance of promoting life and the incredible resources available to help women make that choice. It was a beautiful display of support and compassion, two of the pillars that form the pro-life movement.

As we move forward after the March, we must keep the same bold enthusiasm that was exhibited that day. Our support for women and the unborn is not contained to events like this; we must make an effort to use every single day as an opportunity to promote the choice for life.

The end of 2025 is right around the corner. The year 2026 marks an extremely important year as we work to elect a pro-life legislature in Michigan. To come out of next November’s election victorious, we must use every day from now until then to educate our communities on the dangers of abortion.
