Schmitz receives Outstanding Prolife Youth Award

[Editor's Note: Kaitlin I. Schmitz received the Right to Life of Michigan Outstanding Prolife Youth award for her leadership in prolife activities and her essay about what this next generation can do to promote a positive prolife message. Below is an excerpt of Kaitlin's essay.]

The prolife movement can have a tremendous affect on the new generation of intelligent people. Teens of today are extremely well educated and are using their knowledge to better our future. With the prolife movement, the only thing this generation must keep in mind for an abortion-free world is to not just change minds, but to also change hearts. Educating not only yourself, but also your peers on every aspect of abortion will help you to open their eyes. Teach the ones who don't know anything about abortion how they can help. Show them what abortion is doing to the world. With advances in technology every year, it is easy for a student to research and take interest in the things that make a difference in not only the United States, but also the rest of the world.

A person must not be afraid to take a stand. They must take the initiative to learn as much as they can so that they can have the power to change hearts. It is important for a woman to realize that abortion is, in fact, murder and sometimes, it takes a strong person to show them that. This generation is full of strong youth and they are all capable of creating a better prolife future for the world.
