Destination Life Center Open for Business

The Destination Life Center, which is a Right to Life of Michigan Educational Resource office located in Detroit, is officially open for business.

Right to Life of Michigan President Barbara Listing said, “We are in the business of saving lives. Women deserve better than abortion; the Destination Life Center will provide life-affirming options to women facing a crisis pregnancy.”

The dream of opening a prolife resource center in Detroit was realized earlier in the year, however on November 16 an official Open House and Blessing attracted about 70 visitors to the center.

Since 1973, abortion has claimed the lives of more African-Americans than crime, accidents, cancer, heart disease and AIDS combined.

African-Americans make up 13 percent of the population of the United States, yet 36 percent of abortions are performed on African-American women. The Michigan Department of Community Health reports that 38.2 percent of abortion performed in Michigan are performed on Black women. In Michigan, 14.8 percent of the population is Black. This same abortion pattern falls on Detroit, too.
The Destination Life Center is located in the Van Elslander Family Center, 3000 Gratiot, Suit 107. The center compliments the other support-services agencies which are also part of the Van Elslander Center.
