Right to Life of Michigan has many books, videos and other materials available for classrooms, events and personal use. These are available for loan from Educational Resource Center libraries accross the state. To find contact information for a center near you, please click here.

Abortion

The Light of Life
Carol Everett’s testimony. Immediately following her own abortion in 1973, her life spiraled out of control. Her drive to succeed stood in the way of nothing else. Prolife Doctors Speak Out
A discussion of the basic medical arguments against abortion, featuring John Willke, M.D., Bernard Nathanson, M.D., and C. Everett Koop, M.D. Includes authoritative statements on when life begins, viability, abortion techniques and the complications for women.

A Prolife Look At Abortion Techniques
Carol Everett, former abortion clinic owner, explains abortion methods in a direct, non-graphic manner. See how women are victimized by this industry rather than served by it. Learn the kinds of abortions currently performed, the instruments used, risks to women, facts on fetal organ harvesting and why abortions are performed on non-pregnant women.

Why Can’t We Love Them Both?
This is the video version of Dr. & Mrs. Willke’s best-selling book which counters the “pro-choice” rhetoric. Broken into three parts but all on one tape for easy viewing. Part one (28 min.) includes human life, human rights, discrimination, choice. Part two (26 min.) covers euthanasia, illegal abortion, unwanted babies, rape, Post Abortion Syndrome and loving them. Part three (10 min.) discusses abortion.

Matter of Choice
A female reporter researches and writes a newspaper feature on abortion. Prolife and pro-abortion leaders are interviewed. The video presents the testimony of counselors from crisis pregnancy centers and women who have experienced crisis pregnancies and abortion. This video contains medical footage of both a suction and saline abortion.

Meet the Abortion Providers
Testimonies from several doctors and nurses who have worked in abortion clinics and are now prolife. A real eye-opener about the abortion industry.

The Harder Truth
The Harder Truth graphically depicts the humanity of the unborn child and the inhumanity of abortion. Warning: This video is extremely graphic because abortion is an act of violence which kills a baby. This video is less than 10 minutes.

The Procedure
The barbaric partial-birth abortion procedure is described first-hand by registered nurse Brenda Pratt Shafer. No one could have prepared her for what she witnessed.

The Silent Scream
A first trimester suction abortion as seen on an ultrasound screen from the victim’s point of view. The abortionist’s procedure is explained in scientific terms by Bernard Nathanson, M.D., dedicated to exposing the truth about "abortion on demand."

Choice of a Lifetime
This video provides solid information about fetal development and abortion risks, as well as life-affirming options for responding to an unplanned pregnancy. This video is about 15 minutes.

Letting Go
Letting Go is a 15-minute DVD created by Bethany Christian Services. It shares the stories of various birth parents and discusses why they made an adoption plan and what it was like to make an adoption plan.

The Story of Right to Life
An introductory video about Right to Life of Michigan and its goals. This video explains the importance of the prolife work and how everyone can become involved. Life is precious and irreplaceable and needs to be protected.

Euthanasia

False Light
This video focuses on the need to promote dignity and compassionate care to the terminally ill. Physician-assisted suicide, pain management and the tragic experience in the Netherlands are discussed. Testimonies are featured of people who were told they were terminally ill and yet are still living happy, active lives.

Final Blessing
This video explores the journeys of people facing terminal illness, emphasizing that in death, just as in life, people have value for who they are. Included are interviews with physicians, chaplains, hospice workers and patients who agree true compassion includes treating body and soul. An inspiring video which reveals the peace, healing and growth that can accompany the end of life.

Perspectives on Euthanasia
This prolife video with companion study guide takes an in- depth look at the techniques used and arguments for and against euthanasia. It has been developed by Advocates for Better Care and will provide an understanding of the terminology and concepts of physician-assisted suicide, euthanasia and the direction taken by hospice programs in caring for the terminally ill.

To Be or Not to Be - The Human Family
Mark Pickup is one of North America’s foremost disability speakers/social commentators. He presents an eloquent and compelling argument to include incurably ill and disabled people within the embrace of the human family. He pleads with the culture of death to reject euthanasia consciousness and so-called death with dignity in favor of life with dignity.

The Question of Nutrition and Hydration
This is an informative, inspiring and compassionate discussion on the timely topic of the withdrawal of food and water from non-dying patients and its potential for abuse.

Everyday Miracle of Birth
This video follows one woman’s pregnancy, showing actual photographs of a baby developing in the womb, an ultra-sound and the birth of her baby.

In the Womb
This DVD by National Geographic uses new technology of 3-D and 4-D ultrasounds imagery to “open a window into the hidden world of the fetus and explore each trimester in amazing new detail.” This DVD is 89 minutes long.

Preview of a Birth
Medically accurate video chronicles the journey from conception to birth. Fetal development is explored with in- utero photography, live film and ultrasound.

Ultrasound: Eyewitness to the Earliest Days of Life
Ultrasound is used to observe the unborn in various stages of development as they breathe, jump, suck their thumbs and more.

Ultrasound: A Window to the Womb
This video is a companion to Ultrasound: Eyewitness to the Earliest Days of Life; but also includes Shari Richard’s testimony of her abortion experience, along with important facts about abortion.

Post-Abortion Trauma

The Heart of the Matter
Lisa Whelchel hosts this video which presents a dramatic view of fetal development, explains abortion procedures and addresses post-abortion trauma. Three young women tell their personal stories of the decision to have an abortion, become a single parent and make the choice of adoption.

Silent No More Awareness Campaign
The Silent No More Awareness Campaign allows women and men to publicly share how abortion has affected their lives. This DVD contains a 14-minute and a 28-minute presentation of the campaign, commercials, and 11 full-length testimonals of individuals who’ve had an abortion experience.
